2010 trip to Taiwan

i feel obligated to blog about my taiwan trip, not because i went to the flora expo but mainly why until now also no potential boyfriend!! LOL. i thought that will make excellent blogging material. XD

i have been burning to blog about it eversince we went to this 貔貅 gallery, as usual the overly enthusiastic salesperson will bombard you with the possibilities in life and whatnot and try very much to hardsell their product, in this case it's the 貔貅.

Ramblings aside, usually i don't fall for the "your-life-will-suck-if-you-don't-buy-a-貔貅" trick but this time it's different. the sales got all of us to write our names and then took out an almanac (whatever those are called, those can calculate the 生辰八字 one). she calculated our birthdates and the strokes in our names.

she told my dad that my brother and i both had extremely good names and asked if our names 有给人家算过的. my dad said no, he picked them himself. i would like to think that was a ploy to get him to buy the 貔貅. LOL.

i was kinda skeptical about it all until she said, i have no luck in love. CHIANG CHIANG CHIANG!~ 晴天霹雳! she also said something about me being very successful in my career and that my wealth will be bountiful but my love will come late in life but he will be the one and that i'll marry a wealthy man.

i was like O_O. wah! need or not. i don't how she guessed the no love luck part, probably because my whole self was screaming the no love luck aura. but i like the "i-will-become-very-rich-and-will-eventually-marry-some-rich-guy-and-become-richer" idea. XD

aiyo...so i'll probably get married when i some rich old hag. =.= and he's like the ONE-AND-ONLY. i don't have a lot of options you know.

anyway, i still didn't buy a 貔貅. the 貔貅 wasn't going to change my love luck. it just helps to 闭邪 and balance out the 金木水火土 in our lives. apparently my mum and dad both have alot of 土 in their name but not enough 木 and 水. with land comes trees but trees need water. i just feel really intrigued by the whole 算命 thing, especially when ymx found her one in canada. XD

to all the 蛇 in the coming year, please avoid anything to do with traffic and roads. according to the almanac lady, 蛇在兔年会有high possibilities of mishaps on the roads. so anything to do with roads and traffic 尽量避免.

FAUXHAWK

i love dressup/costumes parties. i think i'm really deprived. hahaha. given my parents' conservative nature and my brother's negativity, it's very hard for them to accept what i did to my hair. >.<
tried out the fauxhawk that i'll be doing on ngshuning's rockstar-themed birthday party. sadly, the new hairspray i bought didn't have very strong holding power so that tuft of fringe keeps falling out of place. i need clarintan's hair straightener! XD



experimented with the makeup as well. silvery lipstick for maximum rocker look! XD i only did my left eye. my left eye looks distinctively bigger with makeup la! makeup does wonders. X)




super love the look! i can totally pull off the rocker look with the hair and makeup. i shall keep my attire a secret as for now. ohs...i modified my brother's belt chain into a choker! =D can't wait!

honeycomb manifestation-Bar/Residence, Grand Lane, Perth

my lastest project, which i have to design a parasitic building/graft structure. i chose to use the honeycomb design. worked so hard to make the plans work. nevertheless, so proud of what i have done. =)

what a lousy collage! XD did it on the final day of submission in probably less than an hour to fill up space. hahaha. trying to take the perfect angle of my model probably took longer than trying to photoshop it in.

HAPPY BDAY ROOMIE~!

cooked a spread on tuesday. unfortunately i had promptly forgotten my camera. so no mouth-watering photos to look at.
thanks to verna+bra+jon+nic for lending me the kitchen and helping me. though i have to say jon did a pretty lousy job at wrapping the pulut inti. X)
popped by at their place at 12noon, after putting the glutinous rice to soak, i head over to subiaco to get groceries. came back with bagfuls of meat and what not.
prepared cereal prawn (best form of appreciation towards the chef is to clean out the plate), beef rendang (this time it was the best ever, i reduce the heat by not adding the amount of chilli as recommended by the recipe, and i had it cooking for 4hours, the meat came out to be so tender and melted in the mouth. *awesome-ness*), stewed pork belly and stirfry broccolli+cauliflower (ahtan's fav!!~). prepared pulut inti for dessert. for dessert no.2 we had chocolate lava cake! credits to verna. omg...the sinful pleasures of life. XD she also baked a lemon chiffon , most delightful.
intended to bring the food back home but it probably wouldn't have been a really smart option, having to drive the food back home and risk any spillage. so we "invited" ginny over instead, saying that we were going out for dinner but really, we were just going to have home-cooked food. though i spent nearly 6hours preparing everything, it was so fun!

makan sutra.

while i have been having a serious craving for pulut udang since forever, i finally got all the ingredients i need. banana leaves were hell expensive. =.= and they came frozen in a pre-packed 1kg pack. so i ended up paying$11 for a kilo of banana leaves which i barely used a fifth of.
anyways...decided to have a go have pulut inti as well since the glutinous rice was done the same and i had this tantalizing recipe. all i had to do was cooked the grated coconut in gula melaka. well ginny cooked the grated coconut while i cut the banana leaves.

looks awesome yea? we were kinda freaking out at the amount of oil that the were flowing out of the pulut udang while grilling it. nevertheless, taste really yum!

omgosh.
can't believe the work i've spent hours on and somebody just took it and copied it. O.o
i don't mind sharing what i know with you and you can have it drawn out the way you want it to. but hello??! u could have sketched out my drawing i can't be bothered. but what annoys me is a direct trace of my work. those who actually did not study are getting there and those who did are slapped with false accusations of not having studied. O.O
what is the world coming to?!
bwah~! reference is a nicer way to describe copying. (ok...i'm pretty annoyed right now.)

i am so not going to take it lying down when my work comes back only to have "PLAGIARISM" stamped all over it.
